Good morning. International advocacy organisation Global Citizen, has just announced that Coldplay will perform at a free-ticketed concert on Thursday, July 6, at the Barclaycard Arena in Hamburg. alongside Herbert Grönemeyer, Shakira and Ellie Goulding. The event, held on the eve of the 2017 G20 Summit, will call on the most powerful world leaders to deliver on their responsibility to help the world’s most vulnerable people.
Starting March 14th, activists and music fans can start earning their tickets by joining the Global Citizen movement at www.globalcitizenfestival.de where 9,000 free tickets to Global Citizen Festival Hamburg will be given out to Global Citizens who sign up, take actions, and enter the draw for free tickets.
Hugh Evans, CEO, Global Citizen said: “In bringing the Global Citizen Festival to Germany for the first time we are calling on the G20 to take action and responsibility for moving forward on the Global Goals. They have had two years to address the Goals, and while some leaders are stepping up, others are engaging with empty promises. As Global Citizens, we do not accept this; we do not accept the status quo or believe these issues are beyond our capacity to fix. With the support of the international community and our partners convened in Hamburg this July, the G20 leaders will hear our call. Together we will make a lasting impact for generations to come.”
